The Art of Felipe Flores @ The Coffee Cup

Check out a very special Hibbleton Gallery pop-up art show at The Coffee Cup in downtown Fullerton, featuring the artwork of Felipe Flores. The show opened Friday, February 1, 2019 from 6-10pm during the Downtown Fullerton Art Walk, and the work will be on display until the end of February.

Comics, 1960s girl groups, current events, Los Angeles and Orange County DIY music scenes, Batman. These are just a few of the influences that inspire illustrator Felipe Flores’s work.

Mimicking the Silver and Bronze Age of Comic Books, his style is familiar and accessible to multiple generations. What sets him apart is his subject matter. Whether it’s a portrait of Motown singer Mary Wells or pro wrestler André the Giant, his envisionment of pop culture icons through mid century comic styles is truly unique. He’s even created his own color pallet of halftone, giving his art an authentic comic-book finish.

The Coffee Cup, a brand new coffee shop in downtown Fullerton is located at 220 N. Malden Ave.
